A strange USB OTG issue

Dec 10, 2009 at 2:04 PM

I'm adapting the EVM 3530 BSP to my ICETEK-OMAP3530-MINI V2, a BB ver B6 clone.The only differece  is it's using TPS65930.

Now,I've got CE6 running on it, but when I play music for a while , the usb otg port will disconnect the usb hub on it, the louder the volume is ,the sooner the disconnect happens.

When i connect the hub to usb host port, it's works fine.

Why it happens, is there something wrong with the audio driver or hardware?

Thanks.

Hi,

I'm not familiar with the ICETEK-OMAP3530-MINI V2.  Check the docs and see how much current their OTG port can source.  In the hub use case, is it powered by an external power supply?

Hi, Joel

Thanks for reply.  My hub is powered by an external power supply, so i don't think it is caused by current limitation.

The original audio driver didn't work  for me, so i made some modification to it.. In the original driver there is 3 output routing in function SetHwCodecMode_EnableOutputRouting, i don't know which one is called by CE, so i  mode kAudioModeSpeaker as the only available output routing and it  works.

Maybe I missed something in the driver. I'll check it again.
